read the label What 10:1 means: ten kilograms of fruiting body go into every kilogram of this extract. That is why a 300 mg dose carries a 3,000 mg whole-mushroom equivalent, the number printed on the label. Short answers below.

short answers

What does 10:1 mean?

Ten kilograms of dried cordyceps fruiting body are concentrated into one kilogram of extract. Each capsule's 300 mg of cordyceps therefore equals 3,000 mg of whole mushroom, which is what the label states.

Why is there lion's mane in my cordyceps?

Each capsule adds 125 mg of lion's mane 1:1 alongside the cordyceps. Both are on the licence, and both are listed on the label.

Fruiting body or mycelium?

Fruiting body only. The fruiting body is the mushroom itself. Mycelium is the root-like network it grows from, usually cultivated on grain, and mycelium products often contain that grain. There is no mycelium, grain or filler in a Purana capsule.

How and when do I take it?

One capsule once daily, with food. Many people take it with breakfast or before training.

Is this licensed in Canada?

Yes. Licensed by Health Canada, NPN 80118456. The licensed use is as a source of fungal polysaccharides with immunomodulating properties.

What is in the capsule besides the extract?

The extract, and a hypromellose capsule shell (plant-derived, vegan). No fillers, flow agents or additives.

Can I take it with medications?

Talk with your health care practitioner before starting any supplement, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking medication, or managing a health condition. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen.

Natural health products licensed by Health Canada are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Benefits of cordyceps

Why take cordyceps?

- to increase energy naturally
- to improve athletic endurance
- to support a healthy libido
- to promote adrenal system balance

Cordyceps mushrooms, primarily Cordyceps sinensis and Cordyceps militaris, are known for their unique ability to enhance energy, endurance, heart health, and libido. These fungi have been used in traditional Eastern medicine for centuries. Found naturally in the high mountain regions of China, these parasitic mushrooms grow on insect larvae, transforming them into a wellspring of health-enhancing compounds. Today, they are cultivated worldwide, ensuring sustainability and accessibility for their use as dietary supplements. The growing body of scientific research supports the myriad of health benefits offered by Cordyceps, making it a revered component of natural health practices.

One of the most celebrated benefits of Cordyceps is its ability to boost energy levels. This is attributed to its role in increasing the body's production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is essential for delivering energy to the muscles. This increase in ATP production is particularly beneficial for improving stamina and fighting fatigue. Studies, such as those conducted by Hirsch (Hirsch et al. 2017), have demonstrated the effectiveness of Cordyceps in enhancing cellular energy production, leading to improved physical performance and energy metabolism. This makes Cordyceps an excellent supplement for athletes and anyone seeking to elevate their energy levels naturally.

Cordyceps has been studied for its potential to enhance aerobic capacity and endurance, with its effects attributed to improved oxygen utilization and increased blood flow. Research, such as a study by Yi, Xi-zhen, and Jia-shi (2004), explores the impact of Cordyceps supplementation on VO2 max, an essential measure of aerobic endurance, in athletes. These findings suggest that Cordyceps can contribute to enhanced physical performance and longer exercise durations, making it an invaluable supplement for those looking to improve endurance

Cordyceps has a long history of use as an aphrodisiac in traditional Chinese medicine. Its libido-enhancing properties are thought to stem from its ability to increase testosterone levels and improve reproductive activity. Clinical studies, such as those by Huang et al. (2001), have shown that Cordyceps can effectively improve sexual function and desire, making it a natural remedy for addressing issues related to sexual health and performance.

Emerging research suggests that Cordyceps may also play a role in regulating blood sugar levels, offering potential benefits for individuals with diabetes or prediabetes. By influencing insulin sensitivity and enhancing glucose metabolism, Cordyceps extracts may help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. A study by Zhang et al. (2016) on diabetic mice showed that Cordyceps supplementation resulted in improved glucose tolerance and reduced blood sugar levels.

Cordyceps has been studied for its potential to protect and improve renal function, as well as its hepatoprotective effects that could benefit liver health. Its ability to reduce fibrosis and inflammation in the kidneys and liver makes it a subject of interest for treating kidney disease and liver conditions. Research by Y. Liu et al. 2015 suggests that Cordyceps can alleviate symptoms and improve outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease.

Incorporating Cordyceps into your daily health routine offers a natural, adaptogenic solution to various modern health challenges. Whether you're looking to improve your physical performance, support your heart health, or enhance your sexual vitality, Cordyceps provides a harmonious blend of benefits that cater to a wide range of health objectives. Experience the transformative power of Cordyceps for yourself and embark on a journey towards a healthier, more vibrant life.
